Grand Prix of Catalunya: Friday

In a blink of an eye, the 7th round of the 2021 season has started at the Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya. Hot temperatures, the crowd on the grandstands, and the aim of getting the best result on Sunday are the motivation ingredients for this weekend. Today, our practice sessions have gone like this:

  • The FP1 has been a solid one for both riders: Dennis Foggia ended up 7th and Xavi Artigas 12th. A good improvement on practice for the Le0pards.
  • In the afternoon, the situation was a little bit complicated: Spaniard Xavi Artigas had a problem with his bike and had to miss some laps while it was fixed. A tiny stone from the gravel that was on track, stuck into Xavi’s bike radiator, tore it, and made the bike lose oil. When it was repaired, he went out and could get confidence again.
  • Italian Dennis Foggia tried to consolidate the morning’s pace but the conditions during the FP2 prevented him from improving. He finally classified the 16th on the combined standings.
  • Teammate Xavi Artigas ended up 19th.

This is a positive circuit for the Le0pard Racing, historically. Let’s keep making history!

The day has been positive overall, despite the final result doesn’t show our true potential. I’ve felt good on the bike this morning and in the afternoon we’ve missed something. We’ll push tomorrow to do the best qualifying possible”.
Dennis Foggia,

I’ve felt good on the bike straight from the morning, on the FP1. Then I had a problem with the bike in the afternoon, and we’ve lost some time. When I went out again I could do some laps and despite my lap time wasn’t what we wanted, I felt good on the bike and that’s the most important. We’ll try to go to Q2 tomorrow”.
