Grand Prix of Malaysia: Saturday

Le0pard Racing will start tomorrow’s race from the third and fifth rows of the grid, with Adrián Fernández in 9th and Guido Pini in 14th:

  • Saturday got underway with Free Practice 2 at Sepang. Replicating yesterday’s results, Adrián Fernández and Guido Pini finished this morning in 5th and 15th positions, both improving their lap times, setting a 2’11.398 and 2’11.762 respectively.
  • Advancing from Q1 in 2nd position with a time of 2’11.614, Guido Pini improved to a 2’11.437 in Q2 to qualify 14th on tomorrow’s grid. A crash in his first run prevented him from improving further today. Adrián Fernández, for his part, will start from 9th on the third row with the 2’11.098 he set on his last flying lap.
  • We can’t wait to race!
“Today ended on a bittersweet note. I felt pretty good and comfortable this morning during Free Practice 2, even with just a few laps. Qualifying, on the other hand, was a bit more difficult, as I wasn’t feeling that comfortable. Still, we’ll be starting tomorrow’s race from ninth on the grid. I’m confident we can take a step forward and push to fight with the group for a good result!”

“The crash was a shame, because I could probably have qualified further up the grid if it hadn’t happened. Tomorrow we’ll have to get a good start and make up as many positions as possible. I’m feeling really good here, and the team has also done a great job. I think we’re in a much better position than today’s result suggests, as we also showed this morning. We just need to go into the race with confidence and give it everything we’ve got!”
