Round 7: Motor Valley and Emilia-Romagna

The 2026 Moto4 European Cup season came to an end for the Leopard Junior Team with Edoardo Savino finishing today’s race in 5th position after a tight battle within a large group that also included Oliver Cantos, who crossed the finish line in 11th. Kevin Cancellieri, on the other hand, gave his best in the Last Chance Race but finished in 22nd position.

Edoardo Savino, 5th

“We started the season really well in Barcelona with a 2nd-place finish, and then confirmed that result in Estoril, taking another 2nd place before unfortunately finishing 20th in Race 2 due to a technical issue. In Jerez, we took another podium in 3rd place, but a crash in front of me brought my Race 2 to an end. In Magny-Cours, we secured 5th and 4th places. In Valencia, we were really strong, and I had the chance to win Race 1 on the final lap, but I went a bit too far when overtaking and crashed. In Race 2, we secured another podium in 2nd place. Aragón, on the other hand, was a bit more difficult, but we bounced back in the race to take 3rd place. That was down to a mistake on my part, as I thought the final lap was the penultimate one. I wasn’t able to finish the season on a high here in Misano, taking 5th place, but I’m very happy with how the season went overall. The team and I have worked really well together, and we’ve been consistently fighting at the front, sometimes even being the fastest. I want to thank the whole team, my sponsors and my family!”

Oliver Cantos, 11th

“This weekend in Misano was a very good one for us, as we were fighting to be inside the top five throughout the weekend. We had an issue in Practice after a crash, which meant we had to go through Q1, but we managed to make it through to Q2 and qualify 4th in our group, putting us 8th on the grid. The race went really well, and we were able to fight with the front group, eventually finishing in 11th position. I’m very happy with the feeling I had on the bike and all the work we’ve done this weekend. It’s been a season in which we’ve progressed step by step, and I’m really happy with the work we’ve done together with the team!”

Kevin Cancellieri, 22nd (Last Chance Race)

“Unfortunately, this season didn’t go as I had hoped. The first race in Barcelona went quite well, but in the second round, in Estoril, I got injured and had to miss Jerez. I returned at Magny-Cours a month and a half later, facing several difficulties as I worked my way back. In Valencia and Aragón, I was hoping to do a bit more, but unfortunately, things didn’t go the way I wanted. This weekend in Misano, I was close to qualifying for the main race, but I got a bad start in the Last Chance Race and wasn’t able to finish in the top two. I would like to thank the entire Leopard Racing team for their work, support and trust throughout this season. It’s been a difficult year, but one I’ve definitely learnt a lot from. Now it’s time to look ahead, with plenty of motivation for the future!”
